Our Legacy
Since 1982, Al Diyafah High School L.L.C. has been at the forefront of providing quality education in Dubai. Founded by the late Mrs. Winnie D'Cunha, the school began with a small group of children and has grown into a leading educational institution.
Key Milestones in Our Journey:
- 1982: Al Diyafah High School is established in Dubai as a nursery with only two students.
- 2001: The Dubai school relocates to a larger, purpose-built campus to accommodate growing enrolment.
- 2013: Diyafah International School opens in Abu Dhabi, extending the Diyafah vision to the capital.
- 2024: Al Diyafah High School in Dubai expanded its facilities to accommodate the growing demand for the community.
- Today: The Diyafah family serves over 3000 students from diverse nationalities, offering a broad curriculum across Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams.
For over four decades, the Diyafah name has stood for excellence in education, nurturing competent, caring, and confident learners who go on to succeed at top universities around the world.
Our Founder
Founded in 1982, Diyafah was born from the vision of Mrs. Winnie D’Cunha, whose mission was to nurture the best in every child—spirit, mind, and body. She envisioned a school environment that would not only foster academic excellence but also instil strong values and critical thinking.

Al Diyafah High School LLC, Abu Dhabi
Al Diyafah High School was founded in 1982, by the late Mrs.Winnie D’Cunha. It started as a Nursery, with just 2 children in a small villa located on Al Diyafah Street, in Dubai. To accommodate the growing numbers, the school moved to a new campus in 2001, where Al Diyafah High School is presently located.
Since its inception in 1982, the Diyafah brand has evolved to be a leader in holistic education, with its outstanding curriculum combined with learning across multiple disciplines. The school now has over 1,900 students from several nationalities, all studying together as one big family. A very successful senior school was started to allow the students to continue their studies, offering a wide range of subjects from Science, Commerce and Humanities streams.
Kidz Mate Nursery LLC, Dubai
Kidz-Mate Nursery is a trusted early years learning centre that has been nurturing young minds since 2006, providing a safe, engaging, and child-focused environment where children can play, learn, and grow. Following the EYFS curriculum, Kidz-Mate promotes holistic development through play-based learning, personalised care, and strong parent partnerships, helping children build confidence and prepare for a smooth transition to primary school. Today, Al Diyafah High School LLC proudly manages Kidz Mate Nursery, further strengthening its commitment to delivering quality early childhood education and care.
Diyafah International School LLC, Abu Dhabi
Located in Abu Dhabi Island in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Diyafah International School was established in 2013 and has since carved a niche amongst the private schools in the emirate as a school providing quality and affordable education.
The school is renowned not only for its demanding academic rigour but also for its strong community engagement, as we believe it is important to work together with our parents and teachers to build a strong ethos where empathy and respect prevail. Diyafah offers a wide range of curricular with many success stories of students achieving High School qualifications for entry to universities across the globe.

Our KS1 children had a wonderful time exploring music with tambourines, shakers, and maracas. As they created rhythms and followed beats together, they developed creativity, listening skills, coordination, and teamwork. A fun and engaging experience that boosted confidence, self-expression, and a love for music!

Congratulations to Zion Toni Sarkar of Year 9 for an incredible performance at the Dubai School Games Jiu-Jitsu Championship! Zion showcased outstanding skill, grit, and determination, earning a well-deserved Silver Medal in the U16 Boys 73kg White Belt category. We are proud of you, Zion!
