Building strong foundations in primary
How primary students at Diyafah develop core skills, character and curiosity through a broad British curriculum.

Key Stages 1 and 2 (Primary) curriculum
In Key Stages 1 and 2, Al Diyafah High School LLC follows the National Curriculum for England, providing a broad, balanced, and engaging educational experience that meets the needs of all learners. The curriculum is designed to be relevant, inspiring, and inclusive, ensuring that every child has opportunities to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Learning experiences are carefully planned to build upon pupils' existing knowledge, strengths, interests, and experiences, enabling them to make meaningful connections and achieve their full potential. The curriculum fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning while developing essential skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners who can work effectively both individually and collaboratively, preparing them for future success in education and beyond.

Assessments
We use both formative continuous assessment and summative to assess our students. Our focus is more on continuous assessment throughout the term. This is a more effective way to support learning and progress. We use our internal data and the external assessments such at the CAT4 assessment to drive the instruction.

Personal Enrichment Programmes
We have a holistic approach to education which extends beyond the classroom to embrace a wide range of Personal Enrichment Programmes. These include Sports, Arts and Crafts, Drama, Educational Minecraft and a range of STEAM activities. By providing these well-rounded experiences, students will be able to develop a range of skills, including physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional, and social skills. Our aim is to grow the unique needs of each child.
GATE (Gifted and Talented Enrichment Program)
Discover the bespoke educational support provided by our Gifted and Talented (G&T) Department, tailored to meet the distinctive learning needs of exceptional students. We understand the importance of an environment that not only challenges but also nurtures individual strengths. Recognising the diverse academic, cognitive, leadership, and creative talents within our student body, we utilise online assessments such as CAT4, GL, and NGRT to identify academically gifted individuals.
Our G&T services extend beyond identification to encompass comprehensive acceleration and enrichment programs. These initiatives involve subject acceleration and leadership opportunities within school clubs, including but not limited to literacy, sports, and music. Additionally, students actively engage in ASDAN, ADHS GATE Program (Gifted and Talented Enrichment Programs), showcasing their talents in various school events and competitions like ADPIQ and Dubai Scholars Cup.
Our G&T students are not just participants; they take on roles as contributors to the school community by writing for the school newsletter, crafting concert scripts, and more. We encourage their intellectual curiosity further through participation in Massive Open Online Courses and the pursuit of additional IGCSE subjects, providing a platform for continuous academic growth and exploration.
